Want to get some exercise, see some old friends, make some new ones, and support a worthwhile cause? Look no further than AIDS Walk Delaware on Saturday, Sept. 16. Walks will be held in Rehoboth Beach and Wilmington that morning.
Epworth will again sponsor a team for Delaware’s largest HIV/AIDS fundraising and awareness event, now in its 37th year. The Rehoboth walk will begin at 10 a.m. at Grove Park with registration starting at 9 a.m. You’re invited to join the Epworth Sunshine Walkers team or to support members of our team.
The theme of AIDS Walk Delaware this year is “REIGNITE THE COMMUNITY: Test, Treat, Prevent, Respond.” Thankfully, more people with HIV live full, healthy lives today than a generation ago. This year’s goal is to raise $100,000 to support case management services, free HIV testing, HIV-specific mental health counseling, education and prevention programs, and housing and transportation services. AIDS Delaware, Delaware HIV Consortium and CAMP Rehoboth are among the organizations that will receive funding from the event.
If you have questions, please contact Epworth team captain David Hagelin at dmhagelin@gmail.com or cell 614-270-7781. You can register for the walk, sign up to volunteer or make a donation at this site:
