A new ministry here, Meet Me @ Epworth, will provide ongoing small group bible study to adults with special needs. Belonging will oversee bible study and Caring will oversee the socialization.
Thid ministry is a great example of exploring faith with an underserved population, those with special needs! We will focus on those with intellectual disabilities as a primary disability. Embracing Community will focus on possibly bringing in others, outside of bible study, with intellectual disabilities with a social activity once a month.
Goals and Objectives:
Goal 1: Share and enhance the word of God through Bible study using study modified to needs of adults with intellectual difficulties.
Goal 2: Providing socialization in a safe setting for underserved population
Our first fellowship event will be on Thursday, September 21, from 5:30-7 pm at the picnic tables on the Bayside. Our first Bible study will be after worship on Sunday, October 1, at 11:30 in Branford.
