It is the time of year when school supplies take over store shelving replacing all the summer fun stuff. For many kids, getting ready for a new school year can be exciting, it can also be challenging for others. Students get on buses wearing new school clothes, new shoes, carrying new backpacks that are full of new school supplies to start the new school year. Not all students returning to school have new clothes or new school supplies to prepare them for the new school year. For the last 10 years Epworth has been a key support for students attending Rehoboth Elementary School. It is a ministry embracing our school aged community, supporting children with the necessary school supplies to be successful.
August begins our school supply drive. There are copies of the list shown on the slide at the WINGS and Pastoral Care areas in the Narthex. Starting next week there will be carts for you to drop off your donations. You may also bring them to the office or drop them off on Tuesday and Thursday during Good Sam Mobile times. On Sunday, August 25 we will have our Blessing of the Backpacks including all those donated. Students and Teachers are asked to bring their backpacks or messenger bags for this yearly blessing.
