Rick Buske is assisting our Worship Team in organizing an usher schedule for the Sunday morning worship service. He is working to schedule 6 -10 ushers each Sunday, and depending on the interest, you may only be needed once a month. Because of changes to our service, some of the previous functions of an usher have been changed.
The most pressing need is for greeters more than anything, someone to be there as people enter the church, to offer a smile and a hello, plus possibly answer questions.
Other usher duties include:
- Arriving at 9:30am on Sunday mornings, ready to serve
- Helping with communion on the first Sunday of the month
- Directing people to the bathrooms or water fountain
- Inviting people to fellowship/coffee
- Counting the congregation
- Checking during the service to help anyone in distress
- Ensuring someone is okay if they leave early
- Directing latecomers to open seats
- Offering headsets for the hearing impaired, which can be “checked out” and then returned
