YOUR NEIGHBORS FAITH – A Monthly Conversation on Important Topics of Faith
Led by Clergy of Different Faith Communities
Tuesday, June 22 from 7-8 pm, you are invited to join a zoom gathering with a group of multi-faith clergy in Rehoboth and Lewes to connect and explore important topics of the day and how we as communities of faith respond to them. The format of the hour we are together is:
- 7 – 7:10 – Clergy presents on the topic and offers one or two questions for individual group discussion.
- 7:10 – 7:35 – Participants will be put into a breakout room with 4 or 5 others where they will introduce themselves and discuss the questions presented.
- 7:35 – 7:55 – A representative from each breakout room group will share one or two key learnings from the discussion within their group.
- 7:55 – 8:00 – Closing.
Our own Pastor Vicki Gordy-Stith will be presenting and leading a conversation on Rituals as Markers of Community Identity. Since the pandemic interrupted most of our rituals in our faith communities, and rituals help create a shared community identity, we have experienced a lack of a sense of belonging. We will look at the role of Christian rituals, called sacraments (we recognize two: communion and baptism), in shaping our understanding of who we are and invite others in the groups to share their own rituals.
