You may have noticed a new logo appearing on our website, in our publications, and on signs around Epworth Church. This design grew out of conversations I’ve been having over the past year with Leanne Walling and Mike Duer, following a nine‑module church communications training program called Pro Church Certified by Brady Shearer. A few months ago, we evaluated our previous logo using the guidelines from that training and realized it felt cluttered and unclear.

The logo you see now—a lighthouse with a cross at the top and a beam of light shining above our name, Epworth Rehoboth Beach—is the result of many thoughtful conversations and a lot of prayer. We wanted a symbol that reflects what God is doing among us here at Epworth. The primary inspiration came from our embracing the designation as a Lighthouse Church in June 2023.

We believe this lighthouse captures who we are: a beacon of hope for our community, offering food, love, hospitality, and a place for meaningful conversations about becoming more faithful to God and to one another. And of course, being so close to the beach, the coastal colors felt like a natural fit for both the logo and our website.

As your Pastor of Media and Communication, I’m excited to continue a conversation about how we represent the work God is doing among us. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this new symbol.
