Serving Nourishing Food with Love
Our Food Ministry volunteers and donors feed our community through four programs:
- Food Rescue. Teams transport, load and triage fresh produce, meat and eggs from area grocery stores, restaurants, and farmers markets. These scheduled pickups take place six days a week and save food that otherwise would have gone to waste.
- Food Intake (pantry). Volunteers collect from individual donors and many community organizations including the Delaware Food Bank, he GFWC Zwaanendael Women’s Club, Stephan & Co. Salon and Spa, the Harry K. Foundation, the Lewes and Rehoboth Beach Rotary Clubs, the U.S. Postal Service, and neighborhood groups.
- Good Sam Pantry. Our volunteers distribute food to our neighbors three times a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
- Food and Love. Teams of volunteers prepare nourishing meals every Sunday from 1 to 3 pm. They also serve visiting J-1 students during the summer.
If you are in need of food, please drop by our oceanside entrance (nearest the woods – as you pass the church building) on any of the following days and times:
- Sundays, from noon to 2 pm (Our Food and Love teams serve a sit-down lunch in our Fellowship Hall from 1-3 pm
