REHOBOTH BEACH, DE — Epworth United Methodist Church and Sussex Help, a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting immigrant communities, invite the public to a powerful community discussion and fundraiser titled “Inside Detention: Real Stories from Immigrants.” The event will take place on Wednesday, October 7th, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Epworth United Methodist Church located at 19285 Holland Glade Rd, Rehoboth Beach, DE.
The evening will feature a candid conversation between a local pastor, who will interview two men, both of whom share the lived experience of being apprehended and detained. Through these personal narratives, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and emotional journeys faced by immigrant families.
This event marks the launch of a new monthly Speaker Series sponsored by Sussex Help aimed at fostering empathy, understanding, and community dialogue as well as raising money for the support of families in crisis due to detention or deportation of a family provider. All are welcome to attend. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of diapers, Similac, baby wipes, dried beans, or rice.
