Epworth will again sponsor a team this year for AIDS Walk Delaware, the state’s largest HIV/AIDS fundraising and awareness event. The walk – in its 36th year – will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, starting at Grove Park at 10 a.m. with registration beginning at 9. A walk also will take place in Wilmington that morning. This year’s theme is “Step Up, Step Out: Remove Stigma, Eliminate HIV, Improve Lives.”

You’re invited to join the Epworth Sunshine Walkers team or to support members of our team. It’s a morning of fun and good fellowship for a cause that remains as important as it was three decades ago; thankfully, today more people with HIV live full, healthy lives. Approximately 3,800 Delaware residents are living with HIV.

This year’s goal is to raise $100,000 in support of case management services, free HIV testing, HIV-specific mental health counseling, education and prevention programs, and housing services. AIDS Delaware, Delaware HIV Consortium and CAMP Rehoboth are among the organizations that will receive funding from the event.

If you have questions, please contact Epworth team captain David Hagelin at dmhagelin@gmail.com or cell 614-270-7781. You can register for the walk or make a donation at this site: https://aidsdelaware.salsalabs.org/2022AIDSWalkDelaware/t/epworthsunshinewalkers/index.html.
