Masks required in worship and during the week for safety
Governor John Carney announced an INDOOR mask mandate for all public and private Schools K-12 and Child Care homes and centers the week of August 9. Since we house both the Pre-School and the Boys and Girls Club, we are part of this requirement. Because we interact with so many and with the increase in the DELTA variant and this new order, the time has come to once again mandate Masks inside the church at all times for EVERYONE, whether vaccinated or not. We are going to implement a mandatory mask policy at Epworth starting this Sunday for everyone. Masks worked to limit the spread of COVID-19 infections and deaths when we were unvaccinated so hopefully, with masks required again, we can get back to where we want to be without having to shut down all together.
Coffee and Conversation between worship services in the narthex/lobby (resumed at Epworth in July 18) will be suspended while we mask for safety at Epworth. We give thanks to the volunteers who have prepared, served, and cleaned up afterwards, and to Gwen Osborne and Joyce Pool, who made it possible by coordinating our wonderful volunteers.
For the month of August, we will be collecting school supplies for students at Rehoboth Elementary School. The list of needed supplies is online. They may be dropped off to a Food Collection Member who will be available at the Epworth Bayside Entrance - Tuesdays 10-12, Thursdays 2-4 and Sunday 1-3. We will also be collecting in the Narthex before and after both services on Sundays through August 29.
Adopt A Highway—Summer 2021
Epworth UMC is responsible for Holland Glade Road and it’s that time again. We will be doing our Summer cleanup on Tuesday, August 31, starting at 5:00 p.m. In the past, we were able to clean the roadway and then join the ISOP folks for some cultural exchange/dinner. That won’t happen this year but we will keep the tradition alive by doing a midweek cleanup. Trash bags, gloves and safety vests will be provided. It usually takes 1-2 hours to complete the

Prayer Chapel - Prayer is an essential part of Christian life. It’s how we open ourselves to talk with God. We pray for others. We pray for our world. We pray for ourselves. Epworth is offering a prayer chapel starting September 19 and continuing every third Sunday of the month after each service. Our Stephen Ministers will be present to guide you through prayers, pray with you or for you, or just listen to you. The prayer chapel will be held in Baker Lounge and the Nursery and there will be signage to direct you.
The Delmarva Blood Bank is holding a blood drive at Epworth on Sunday, September 19 from 9-1 in Fellowship Hall. Scheduled appointments can be made each Sunday before and after services at the Pastoral Care Desk in the Narthex. You may also make your appointments online at delmarvablood.org. On Sunday, October 3, Beebe Healthcare is sponsoring a Flu Vaccination Clinic at Epworth UMC after the 9 am service and before the 11 am service in Fellowship Hall.

The New Life Thrift Shop is a major source of funding for the Lewes Rehoboth Association of Churches (LRAC), which gives back 100% of proceeds to the community.
