Epworth's own Donna Walton will represent Delaware at the 2026 Summer US National Games as a bowler in Minneapolis beginning June 20.

Donna will leave with the Delaware Delegation from Philadelphia Airport on June 19 and return June 27.  Next Sunday, June 14 there will be a basket in the Narthex for you to place a card or note wishing her good luck at the games.  The Special Olympics USA Games will be the largest sporting event in 2026, bringing together more than 3,000 athletes, 1,400 coaches and 10,000 volunteers to compete in a variety of sports from June 20-26, 2026, in Minnesota.

Donna Walton, a dedicated athlete and inspiring leader, has been part of the Special Olympics Delaware family for an incredible 13 years! Over the years, she has competed across a wide range of sports—always willing to try something new and challenge herself along the way. Her passion for competition, strong work ethic, and dedication to the Special Olympics mission make her a role model for fellow athletes and a valued leader within the SODE community.

Team Delaware consists of more than 58 members competing in 7 sports – Athletics (Track & Field), Basketball, Bocce, Bowling, Softball, Swimming and Tennis. Although we will be competing in different sports, we make up one team – TEAM DELAWARE.

This is exciting for Donna and her family but also for us as a support system for Donna and Special Olympics Delaware through the last several years.  Send a card to Minneapolis with her reminding her we a with her and praying for her as she represents Delaware at the USA National Games!

Go Donna!
