Throughout the month of June, the focus of the Wednesday Connections group will be “Encountering Christ, Faith, and Spirituality in the Arts.” All are invited to spend those Wednesday evenings in fellowship via Zoom as we explore various ways that Spirit moves and has been brought to life via the various branches of the fine arts. Join us for some or all of those weekly gatherings, for presentations and robust conversation. Each evening’s session will conclude with the sharing of joys and concerns, followed by a closing prayer. Facilitators for this study will be Mark and Sheldon Gruber-Lebowitz.
We will follow the following schedule:
June 2 — “Beyond the Familiar...Encountering Christ in the Visual Arts”
June 9 — “Spirit On and Off Broadway...Stirring Souls in Live Theater”
June16 — “Reel Encounters...Depictions of Faith and Spirituality in Film”
June 23 — “Turn Your Radio On...The Spirit, Overt and Otherwise, in Popular Music”
June 30 — “Show and Tell” — We will wrap up the month as group members will be invited to share visual art works, theater experiences, treasured films, or popular songs through which they have encountered Christ or been enriched spiritually.
