Prayer Chapel - Prayer is an essential part of Christian life. It’s how we open ourselves to talk with God. We pray for others. We pray for our world. We pray for ourselves. Epworth is offering a prayer chapel starting September 19 and continuing every third Sunday of the month after each service. Our Stephen Ministers will be present to guide you through prayers, pray with you or for you, or just listen to you. The prayer chapel will be held in Baker Lounge and the Nursery and there will be signage to direct you.
The Delmarva Blood Bank is holding a blood drive at Epworth on Sunday, September 19 from 9-1 in Fellowship Hall. Scheduled appointments can be made each Sunday before and after services at the Pastoral Care Desk in the Narthex. You may also make your appointments online at delmarvablood.org. Bishop Easterling is hosting her first Bishop's Days on the District here in the Peninsula-Delaware Annual Conference. These events will be in person AND online as a hybrid format. Bishop will be present for two events on each district. Each of those events will be available online in zoom format as well. Each presentation will be the same at both times and on each district, so you may choose to attend any one of the six events. Each event will have a question and answer time. If you can not make one of the six events, the Bishop's presentation minus the Q&A will be made available on the Conference website.

Our annual Blessing of the Animals service will be held on Sunday, October 3, at 1:30 p.m. The service will be held under the Bayside Portico, facing Royal Farms. All animals are welcome, but must be accompanied by their owners. There will be a memorial table to remember all the loving and caring animals that have enriched our lives. Bring a picture, candle or remembrance of your loving pet to place on the table during the service. If you would like to bring a bag or can of dog/cat food we will donate to our local shelter.
On Sunday, October 3, Beebe Healthcare is sponsoring a Flu Vaccination Clinic at Epworth UMC after the 9 am service and before the 11 am service in Fellowship Hall.
Volunteer Opportunities
Collecting and Distributing food to our neighbors in need Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays – and rescuing food every day.
Help us deliver food to recently discharged Sussex County residents who are food disadvantaged the second Wed. morning each month (4-5 hour commitment). Contact Carol Woodcock at 302-668-7963 clwoodcock@comcast.net.

The New Life Thrift Shop is a major source of funding for the Lewes Rehoboth Association of Churches (LRAC), which gives back 100% of proceeds to the community.
