We will gather in gratitude and with blessings for Darlene Ford ‘s retirement recognition after worship on April 7.  There will be cards on a table outside of the Sanctuary after Easter service for anyone wanting to give her retirement messages.

Darlene has served Epworth UMC for 15 years as Office Manager and Finance Manager. Staff members recently gave thanks to God for Darlene’s outstanding competence in navigating changing financial waters and the sense of peace she always brought to every situation. That peace was borne not only of her mastery of finance management, but of her steadfast belief in people.

Nowhere was this more evident than during the turbulent years of the Covid quarantine, when Darlene helped to manage a dramatically shifting financial situation by doggedly applying for government Covid relief and helping church members give electronically – as well as working with the Preschool Board to ensure the quarantine would not affect their ability to function.

We give thanks to God for Darlene’s financial stewardship an guidance, as well as her ability to manage a changing staff in changing times. We pray God’s rich blessings as she passesd the mantle at Epworth and enters a new phase of her life with God.
