The Rev. Dr. Bo Gordy-Stith – Pastor of Community and Communications
Bo came to the Eastern Shore from North Carolina via Annapolis, where he fell in love with and married his classmate and duet partner, Vicki. After serving as a naval officer in Japan, the Persian Gulf, and in Newport, Rhode Island, Bo answered God’s call to serve as pastor, earning a Master of Divinity degree at Duke and a Doctor of Divinity degree at Drew. He has served five United Methodist congregations over 30 years, including 20 years as co-pastor or on staff with Vicki.
Along the way, Bo gained experience in website development, sound and light equipment operation, and digital graphic and video editing and production. He brings to Epworth a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus in fresh ways, through story, song, drama, dance, and art.
Bo serves 20 hours a week at Epworth and 30 hours a week as a bus driver for the Cape Henlopen School District.
Bo is the proud father of Joy (married to Shaun), Eli (married to Xiaolea), and Elijah (who died in 2018), and the grandfather (Papa) of Gage, Spencer, and Ryder. Bo and Vicki share a home in Lewes with their golden doodle, Wesley and short-haired tabby, Lulu. Bo enjoys reading, gaming, camping and boating.
