Epworth.faith was offline for two days (Friday-Saturday, June 23-24) due to a malfunctioning plugin on our WordPress site. Our Pastor of Community and Communications, Bo Gordy-Stith, resolved the issue with a tech from BlueHost, where our site is hosted, early Sunday morning. Lee Ann Walling, a member of Epworth’s praise and tech teams, texted Bo (who was returning from a week-long sermon planning retreat with Pastor Vicki) Friday morning to let him know the site was down.
The culprit was a malfunctioning WordPress plugin designed to link our events calendar with Outlook. The tech team had been experimenting with the plugin for several weeks, during which the plugin had not caused any issues with the website performance. The WordPress tech disabled the plugin and the site returned to full service Sunday morning, shortly after 6:00.
