Hello, my name is Tammy Zhang and I am very excited to be joining Epworth United Methodist Church (Epworth UMC) as the new Office Manager. My present position is an Office Assistant/Receptionist at IG Burton Collision Center in Lewes waiting for the perfect position, which I found at Epworth UMC. I have over 18 years of administrative experience with my last position as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer at the American Urological Association in Maryland. In this position, I also supported the General Counsel and the Board Treasurer. This position included being the Chair of the Entertainment Committee where I supervised approximately 12-15 employees. Other previous positions included Accounting Administrator and AP/AR Office Manager.
After graduating from High School, I joined the military in the United States Air Force as Security Police serving a total of six years active duty and then four years in the reserves at Dover AFB. During my career in the military, I was stationed/deployed to many exciting places such as the Philippines, Guam, Japan, Korea, Honduras and Hawaii to name a few. Received my Associates of Arts in Business Administration and then my Bachelor of Business Administration with a Concentration in Accounting/Finance.
After relocating our family to Delaware, I decided to follow my dream and open a bakery, Nadine’s Coastal Cupcakes & Sweets LLC in 2019. We signed a contract to open a storefront only to be stopped in our tracks by COVID. The business was then maintained from our home untl a cat bite to my hand put me in the hospital for a week and two surgeries to repair the damage from the infection. Due to fine motor skill limitations, the business was closed.
I am married to a wonderful man, Peter and have two terrific sons, Julian and Hunter. We enjoy our free time traveling, camping, scuba diving and tropical beaches. Quality family time is very important to all of us and we cherish every moment together. A wonderful addition to our family is our rescued Golden Doodle Shaggy Guy. He was 10 months old when he was rescued and will be three on January 1. We also have a 15-year-old Siberian cat named Buttercup.
Tammy, welcome! So happy to have your talents at Epworth. ✝️🌈❤️✝️✝️
