Discussion with Rev. Kody Witt (Sanctuary)

Rev. Kody Witt is originally from Brookville, Pennsylvania and attended Clarion University of PA for his undergrad where he earned a B.A. History. He then attended Seminary at Campbell University Divinity School in Buies Creek, NC and graduated in 2012 with his M. Div.  In 2014 to 2016 Kody was the Assistant Pastor at Epworth United Methodist Church. During his time there he was responsible for the youth ministry, young adult ministry, and participated in pastoral care, worship leading, preaching, and sat on various committees. During this time, he also started Open Beach, which was an extended campus of Epworth that met on Dewey Beach in the summers and was designed to share the Epworth community and values with the unchurched communities of the area. In 2016 Kody took a position as a Staff Chaplain at St Vincent Hospital in Jacksonville Florida where he worked until 2018 when he was commissioned to the Active-Duty United States Army.  He began his Army career with 3 years serving the 2-3 Infantry Battalion at Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) in Washington State and currently Serves at Brooke Army Medical Center. While serving with 2-3 infantry he started Summit Chapel Ministries, and while co-pastoring the chapel, grew it to be the largest chapel attended by soldiers at JBLM. Kody is married and the proud father of 3 children, his youngest being just 2 months old!!
