Gifted Collaborators (Sep. 12 – Oct. 10, 2021)
As we begin a year-long worship focus on the Beloved Community – the Body of Christ, we turn to three Hebrew scriptures and two New Testament passages to set the tone for the community themes we will be exploring together over the coming worship year.
COVID-19 has forced us to rethink what community means, as many typical expressions of physical closeness have become threatening. As we keep our distance to keep one another safe, we discover new ways and practices of community life. We draw on the rich tradition of scriptural wisdom to rediscover the enduring and adaptable foundations of life together.
Sep. 12 – Never Alone (Exodus 18:14-23) No one has to go it alone in God’s community; our diverse gifts enable us to meet diverse needs together.

Sep. 19 – Fierce Friends (Proverbs 17:17; 18:24; 27:10, 17) Friendship in God’s community helps us overcome our blind spots and profit from loving advice.
